JSPS-supported joint research group, who initiated and runs this homepage, are jointly examining firm R&D strategies and public policies from the viewpoint of economic and legal studies. We have examined and are examining various issues such as firms’ R&D strategies, patenting, patent pools, standards, and competition policy.
The team will organize the two-day workshop on intellectual property rights and competition policy on November 27~28, 2009 in Osaka at the Hotel New Hankyu Osaka (Hankyu Terminal Square); International Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights and Competition Policy.  Three big name guest speakers are included;
Professor Hiroyuki Odagiri, Hitotsubashi University, Japan,
Professor Francois Lévêque, Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris, France,
and
Professor Federico Etro, University of Milan, Bicocca, Italy.
